Peter heads VALUEworks Investment Consulting, which is part of Zurich-based multi-family office VALUEworks. Before that, he was a member of the management and senior consultant at onValues. Previous to that he co-founded Wuethrich, Henz & Co. AG where he advised owners of large wealth on their long-term investment strategies and manager selection. He also served on Rothschild Bank Zurich's executive board and was the bank's Chief Investment Officer and Global Head of Research for many years. He held similar positions at VZ VermoegensZentrum, Bank Julius Baer and Cantrade Private Bank. Peter invented the “Cantrade Fund Radar”, the first fund analysis tool using visual means to illustrate complex evaluations of asset managers. His first experience in the finance sector reaches back to 1987 when he joined Barclays Bank on New York’s Wallstreet as a financial analyst trainee.
Peter graduated with a master degree in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He subsequently passed the Chartered Financial Analyst and Financial Risk Manager exams to become CFA and FRM charter holder. He keeps close ties to academia by working closely with Universities and think tanks on subjects like behavioural finance, economic history and alternative economic theories. Peter is member of the CFA Institute and regularly advises financial journalists on investment topics. He is a founding member of Advisornet.ch, a network of independent investment consultants. He lives with his wife and two sons in Zürich.
Beat Zaugg has a long experience in consulting institutional investors on investment strategies. Between January 2017 and 2019 he was Managing Partner at Inrate Ltd., a leading independent sustainability ratings provider based in Switzerland. Within this role he was resposible for key clients and involved in the development of new products and services.
Before joining Inrate, he was Head Investment Consulting at AON Hewitt and had previously a similar position at Watson Wyatt (today Willis Towers Watson). In total, Beat Zaugg has over 17 years of experience as an investment consultant for pension funds and 8 years in the field of sustainable investments. He was responsible for integrating environmental factors in the investment process at UBS, where he spent 4 years. Finally, he was a co-founder of Eco-Rating International Ltd. His research focus and specialization is on real estate, banks and commodities.
Beat Zaugg has a master’s degree in Economics of the University of Bern and is a CFA® Charter holder. He has published numerous articles and is regularly invited as a speaker for conferences and workshops. Since 2009 he is an Advisor of onValues.
Peter is partner in the founding team of Globalance Bank. As Head of Impact Research he guides the bank's efforts to understand and increase economic, social and environmental impacts of all investments accross all asset classes. Peter also serves as non-executive member of the Board of Directors of SustainAbility, the strategy consultancy and think tank, where he was Executive Director for many years. He is a known voice on matters of corporate governance and the role of investors (private and institutional) in creating long-term value. Prior to joining SustainAbility, Peter worked for Stephan Schmidheiny, a Swiss entrepreneur and founder of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, first as executive assistant and later as Director of Strategic Development of FUNDES International. As Associate of the World Resources Institute, WRI, Washington, D.C., Peter helped engage the business community, specializing in forestry and energy/climate protection.
Peter holds a masters degree from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland in economics, law and business with an emphasis on finance.
